beginner ROBOTICS coding

Soheil Hildebrand, Camp Instructor
I am an 11th grader at Squalicum High School, and have been a part of robotics since 8th grade. I am the lead programmer for my team, and am so excited to share what I have learned with others!

Learn C++ programing for Vex Robotics this summer! Program your self driving robot to navigate an obstacle course and perform challenging tasks! Experience with coding (even scratch!) is helpful.

9 am – 12 pm, $250/week

At White Crow String Works, we believe in nurturing the full creative potential of young people—not only through music but by supporting all forms of exploration, innovation, and expression. This summer, we are thrilled to host a Robotics Camp led by Soheil Hildebrand, a talented young cellist and an 11th grade student at Squalicum High School. In addition to being an accomplished musician, Soheil has had years of experience in competitive robotics and is deeply committed to STEM education.

This camp will go above and beyond what students would learn in a traditional school setting, teaching them next-level programming skills that are not taught in their classes. Students will learn the basics of coding in the C++ programming language while also learning about the math and physics behind robotics. They will apply these skills to their robots, which use VEX parts to model a real industry-style robot, with driving and object-interacting capabilities. Over the week, students will design, program, test, and improve an autonomous routine. This condensed 1-week experience will give students a taste of what robotics in high school and beyond feels like and introduce them to the field of competitive robotics.

We’re proud to support youth-led programs like this one, and we celebrate Soheil’s leadership in bringing the spirit of curiosity, excellence, and innovation to our community.
